Suryoday Small Finance Bank reported strong turnaround in FY26 with PAT of ₹152 Crore (up 32.2% YoY) compared to losses in previous year. Gross advances grew 29.4% to ₹13,261 Crore and deposits surged 32.3% to ₹13,994 Crore. Asset quality improved with GNPA declining to 6.5% and NNPA to 4.2%, while slippage reduced significantly from ₹264 Crore in Q4 FY25 to ₹74 Crore in Q4 FY26. The bank achieved RoA of 1.1% and RoE of 9.8%, though this fell short of its original guidance of RoA 1.5-1.6% and RoE 11-12%. Management has set FY27 targets targeting 30-35% growth in advances and deposits, RoA of 1.3-1.4%, RoE of 13-14%, and further improvement in asset quality with GNPA targeted at ~3%.
The bank demonstrated a strong operational turnaround with return to profitability and improved asset quality, indicating recovery from previous stress. The missed original FY26 profitability targets but set conservative yet achievable FY27 guidance suggests realistic expectations, which could be viewed positively by investors focused on sustainable growth.
