Suryoday Small Finance Bank filed the transcript of its Q4 & FY25 earnings call held on May 9, 2025. Both deposits and advances crossed the INR 10,000 Cr milestone for the first time, with gross advances at INR 10,251 Cr (+18.5% YoY) and deposits at INR 10,580 Cr (+36% YoY). Asset quality was impacted by microfinance stress, with GNPA rising sharply to 7.2% (from 2.8%), though CGFMU cover of INR 460 Cr effectively covers nearly 100% of net NPAs. Profit after tax fell 46.8% YoY to INR 115 Cr, while pre-provisioning operating profit declined 14.3% to INR 389 Cr as cost-to-income ratio stayed elevated at 70.6%. Management guided FY26 AUM growth of 30-35%, ROA of 1.5-1.6%, ROE of 11-12%, GNPA below 5%, and secured mix at around 55%, with credit cost guided at 1% (1.75-2% including CGFMU premium).
While asset quality remains under pressure from the microfinance cycle, the CGFMU guarantee provides strong downside protection on existing NPAs, and management's guidance points to a meaningful earnings recovery in FY26 driven by secured book growth and credit cost normalization. Shareholders should watch Q1 FY26 collection trends and the timing of CGFMU claim inflows (around INR 350 Cr expected in FY26).
