Tata Motors Limited has informed shareholders about the process for tax deduction at source (TDS) on the recommended final dividend of ₹4.00 per fully paid-up equity share (200% on face value ₹2/-) for FY ended March 31, 2026. The dividend is subject to shareholder approval at the 2nd AGM scheduled for June 29, 2026, with the record date fixed as June 12, 2026 and payment to be made by July 2, 2026. Under the Income Tax Act, 2025 (as amended by Finance Act, 2026), resident shareholders with valid PAN will attract 10% TDS (20% if PAN is inoperative), while non-residents face 20% plus surcharge and cess, with an option to claim beneficial DTAA rates. Various exemptions apply for resident individuals (dividend up to ₹10,000), mutual funds, insurance companies, AIFs, and NPS trusts subject to valid documentation. The deadline for submitting tax-related documents is June 15, 2026.
Shareholders should submit required tax documents by June 15, 2026 to avoid higher TDS deductions. The ₹4 per share dividend, if approved at the AGM, will be paid by July 2, 2026 after TDS.
