Tenneco Clean Air India Ltd's material subsidiary, Tenneco Automotive India Private Limited, has received board approval to set up a new factory in Western India. The expansion will add approximately 2.1 million units per annum of Front Strut and Rear Shock Absorbers, bringing total capacity to around 21.79 million units. The INR 690 million investment will be funded through internal accruals and implemented in phases over FY 2026-27 and FY 2027-28. The rationale cited is growing demand and strengthening manufacturing presence in Western India.
This capacity expansion signals management's confidence in sustained demand growth and could support future revenue growth. The investment is self-funded, indicating healthy internal cash generation, though near-term returns will be limited as the new capacity ramps up.
