CRISIL has reaffirmed Thomas Cook India's long-term rating at AA- with a Positive outlook and its short-term rating at A1+, on its bank facilities, corporate credit rating, and commercial paper programme. The rating reflects the company's strong business risk profile, leadership in travel and forex, and healthy financial performance in FY25 with revenue growing about 11% year-on-year to Rs 8,197 crore (from Rs 7,379 crore in FY24), driven mainly by the travel segment which contributes over 75% of total revenue. Operating margin remained healthy at 6.52% in FY25, supported by cost reduction and operating leverage. The financial risk profile is comfortable, with a tangible net worth of Rs 1,447 crore against total debt of Rs 484 crore, and strong liquidity backed by cash and bank balance of Rs 2,070 crore as of March 31, 2025. The rating also factors in continued strong support from parent Fairfax Financial Holdings, which holds a 63.83% stake in the company.
The rating reaffirmation with a Positive outlook signals continued financial strength and creditworthiness, which is supportive of the company's borrowing costs and investor confidence. It is a neutral-to-positive event for shareholders, indicating stability rather than a change in fundamentals.
