Vedanta Aluminium reported its highest-ever Q1 FY27 aluminium production of 632 KT, up 5 percent YoY and 3 percent QoQ, aided by new smelter volumes. Value-added production also hit a record 389 KT, up 14 percent YoY. Alumina output rose 41 percent YoY to 826 KT but fell 6 percent QoQ from unplanned shutdowns. BALCO expansion stays on track for full capacity by Q4 FY27. The firm secured environmental clearance for the Sijimali Bauxite Block and executed a mining lease for the Kuraloi (A) North Coal Block.
Record output and expansion progress signal strong operational momentum. The alumina dip and coal and bauxite clearances are positives for long-term growth.
