Produces primary aluminium and alumina, with a growing share of value-added products like primary foundry alloys for the auto sector. The Q1 FY27 quarterly result showed revenue of Rs 21,105 crore and EBITDA of Rs 10,499 crore at about 50% margin, with aluminium production at a record 632 KT for the quarter. FY27 volume guidance is 2.6-2.7 MnT of aluminium and 4-4.1 MnT of alumina, with a target cost of production of 1,650-1,700 dollars per tonne. It is pushing to become the world's largest primary billet producer at 1.25 MTPA through BALCO expansion, with 90% of output targeted at value-added products, including two new foundry alloys launched for auto customers in 60-plus countries. Backward integration is being secured through the Karlapat Bauxite Block (about 248 million tonnes of reserves across 1,822.61 hectares in Odisha) declared as preferred bidder via subsidiary BALCO, which is now a subsidiary following the 51% stake acquisition from Vedanta Ltd for Rs 22,180 crore. Power cost is being managed by tying up a 600 MW solar delivery agreement and a 150 MW Battery Energy Storage System with Serentica Renewables for round-the-clock renewable supply.
