IREDA, a government-owned renewable energy finance NBFC, filed its audited standalone interim financial statements for the nine months ended December 31, 2025. Total revenue from operations rose 26.8% year-on-year to ₹6,134.04 crores, driven mainly by interest income of ₹6,040.86 crores (up 28.1%). Profit after tax grew 15.4% to ₹1,380.58 crores, while earnings per share rose to ₹4.97 from ₹4.45. The loan book expanded 26.4% to ₹85,989 crores and total assets crossed ₹92,197 crores. However, impairment on financial instruments surged sharply to ₹561.79 crores from ₹107.79 crores in the prior period. The auditors flagged two Emphasis of Matter items — ₹400.24 crores of accounts reclassified as standard instead of NPA per High Court interim orders, and a restatement of CRAR for December 2024 to 15.52%. The audit was conducted by joint auditors Shiv & Associates and Rao & Emmar, noting the prior period was audited by predecessor statutory auditors.
Strong top-line and loan-book growth signal aggressive business expansion, but a five-fold jump in impairment provisions and Emphasis of Matter on NPA reclassification raise asset-quality concerns. The change in statutory auditors and negative operating cash flows from rapid lending growth are additional points shareholders should track closely.
