Setco Automotive has informed exchanges that the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) issued a direction under Section 33A of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, ordering the closure of a manufacturing unit belonging to its subsidiary Setco Auto Systems Private Limited. The unit is located on Baroda–Godhra Highway, Kalol, District Panchmahal, Gujarat, and the direction also includes disconnection of electricity supply (except single phase) and stoppage of alleged wastewater discharge near the catchment area of River Goma. The direction follows an inspection by GPCB officials on 13 February 2026 and was received by the company on 11 March 2026. The company is currently examining the direction and evaluating legal remedies, while assuring stakeholders that all its manufacturing units operate in compliance with applicable laws. Financial and operational impact is still being assessed.
