3i Infotech's material subsidiary, 3i Infotech Digital BPS Limited (formerly 3i Infotech BPO Ltd.), has settled an income tax dispute for financial year 2013-14 under the government's Direct Tax Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme, 2024. The CIT TDS 2, Delhi accepted the subsidiary's application and issued Form 2 certificate on July 2, 2025, with the final Form 4 order to follow. The original disputed tax demand was ₹2.59 lakhs, with additional disputed interest of ₹2.27 lakhs and penalty of ₹0.44 lakhs. Under the scheme, 110% of the disputed tax (₹2.85 lakhs) is being adjusted from amounts already paid and refunds due. The company is expected to receive a net cash inflow of ₹74.79 lakhs from the balance refund for FY 2013-14. The company clarified there is no material impact on its operations from this development.
Positive for shareholders as the subsidiary resolves a long-pending tax dispute and stands to receive a net cash inflow of ₹74.79 lakhs, though the absolute amount is small relative to the company's overall size. The settlement removes an old litigation overhang for FY 2013-14.
