NSE debut boosts BSE's cash market turnover

NSE made its stock-market debut on BSE on Thursday, contributing 46 percent (Rs 9,483.28 crore) of BSE's total equity cash turnover of Rs 20,672.36 crore, making it the top-traded stock. NSE listed at a slight premium of 0.84 percent to its IPO price of Rs 1,785 before settling up 1.85 percent at Rs 1,818. BSE's cash market share is expected to rise marginally from around 7 percent to about 8.29 percent; Macquarie has a 12-month target of Rs 1,965.
