ICRA has reaffirmed Aavas Financiers' long-term credit rating at [ICRA]AA (Double A) across its Rs. 3,398 crore bank lines and Rs. 800 crore Non-Convertible Debenture (NCD) programme, while upgrading the outlook to Positive from Stable. The Rs. 250 crore Commercial Paper rating was also reaffirmed at [ICRA]A1+, the highest short-term grade. Separately, the rating on a Rs. 100 crore NCD has been withdrawn following full redemption of that instrument. Aavas is a housing finance company, and major lenders in the rated pool include National Housing Bank (Rs. 2,344 crore refinance) and ICICI Bank.
This is a positive signal for shareholders — the outlook revision to Positive suggests ICRA sees scope for an actual rating upgrade if the company sustains its performance, which could translate into lower future borrowing costs. The clean redemption of the Rs. 100 crore NCD also reflects healthy liability management with no signs of stress.
