Adani Power reported Q1 FY26 consolidated revenue from operations of ₹14,109 crore, down about 5.7% from ₹14,955 crore in Q1 FY25. Net profit fell to ₹3,305 crore from ₹3,913 crore (down ~15.5%), with EPS at ₹8.62 versus ₹9.62. Profit before tax came in at ₹4,204 crore against ₹4,906 crore a year ago. The board also approved a 1:5 stock split (₹10 face value into 5 shares of ₹2 each), subject to shareholder approval, to improve liquidity and make shares more affordable for retail investors. The auditor flagged an emphasis of matter on pending SEBI investigations related to the 2023 short seller report, while the Q1 FY25 standalone numbers were restated to reflect the merger of Adani Power (Jharkhand) Limited. The company also won the bid to acquire Vidarbha Industries Power (600 MW) for ₹4,000 crore, which became a subsidiary in early July.
Short-term sentiment may be slightly negative given the year-on-year decline in both revenue and profit, but the stock split is generally seen as a positive for retail participation and liquidity. Pending SEBI matters remain a watch item, though the auditor's conclusion is unmodified.
