Aksh Optifibre had filed a securitisation application before the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Jaipur, challenging SARFAESI recovery proceedings initiated by Union Bank of India. The DRT had earlier granted an interim stay. In its order dated March 24, 2026 (received by the company on March 26, 2026), the DRT has set aside both the Demand Notice under Section 13(2) and the Possession Notice under Section 13(4) of the SARFAESI Act, 2002. As a result, the entire securitisation action by the bank stands quashed. This is a relief for the company from the bank's recovery and asset possession actions.
Positive for shareholders — the company's assets are no longer under threat of bank seizure, and the lender's recovery proceedings have been nullified, reducing near-term financial stress.
