Akums Drugs reported standalone revenue of ₹13,487 million for FY26, marginally up from ₹13,118 million in FY25. However, profit after tax (PAT) declined significantly to ₹1,116 million from ₹1,610 million in the prior year, a drop of about 31%. The auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion but included an Emphasis of Matter regarding an ongoing Income Tax Department search and seizure operation from January 2025 and subsequent show cause notices. Exceptional items of ₹65.19 million were recognized for labour code changes and VDA arrears. The Board recommended a final dividend of ₹1 per share plus a special dividend of ₹2 per share. PAT for Q4 FY26 stood at ₹152 million versus ₹276 million in Q4 FY25.
The sharp PAT decline of ~31% YoY and lower Q4 performance are likely negative for the stock in the short term. The Income Tax search proceedings with pending show cause notices add regulatory uncertainty. The dividend declaration signals management confidence but may not offset profitability concerns.
