Ambalal Sarabhai Enterprises reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹19,618.53 lakhs for FY25, up about 13% from ₹17,357.05 lakhs in FY24, driven by growth in both Pharmaceuticals (~17%) and Electronics (~9%) segments. Profit before exceptional items and tax jumped roughly 78% to ₹1,183.36 lakhs from ₹665.10 lakhs. However, a one-time exceptional charge of ₹700 lakhs toward settlement of litigation pulled profit before tax down to ₹483.36 lakhs, and net profit fell to ₹493.17 lakhs from ₹568.07 lakhs. Q4 FY25 was weak on a consolidated basis with a small net loss of ₹26.70 lakhs and revenue of ₹4,597 lakhs. On a standalone basis, profit after tax more than tripled to ₹824.18 lakhs from ₹258.32 lakhs, helped by reversal of doubtful loan/advance provisions and gains on asset sales. The statutory auditor issued an unqualified opinion. The 47th AGM is scheduled for 17 July 2025.
Mixed picture for shareholders: strong operating profit growth and segment expansion are positives, but the exceptional litigation charge and weaker Q4 pulled headline net profit lower year-on-year on a consolidated basis. The sharp swing to negative operating cash flow (₹-1,761 lakhs vs ₹+889 lakhs last year) is a concern and may weigh on sentiment despite the clean audit opinion.
