Ambuja Cements reported strong Q1 FY26 results. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations rose about 21.6% year-on-year to ₹5,520.86 crore (from ₹4,538.26 crore), while profit after tax jumped about 50.8% to ₹855.49 crore (from ₹567.39 crore). On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations grew about 23.5% to ₹10,244.11 crore and PAT rose about 23.8% to ₹969.66 crore, aided by the completion of the Orient Cement acquisition (72.66% stake for ~₹5,903 crore). The Board also approved the appointment of Shobhit Dwivedi as the new Internal Auditor from October 1, 2025, replacing Mithlesh Satija who is retiring. The NCLT sanctioned the merger of Adani Cementation with Ambuja Cements on July 18, 2025. The auditor's review report is clean except for an emphasis-of-matter note on ongoing CCI litigation (₹1,163.91 crore penalty matter pending before the Supreme Court).
Strong topline growth driven by capacity expansion through acquisitions (Orient, Penna, Sanghi) and healthy margin expansion should be positive for shareholders, though results are not fully comparable year-on-year due to acquisitions and one-off tax reversals. The pending CCI penalty of over ₹1,100 crore remains a key overhang.
