Ambuja Cements reported its highest ever annual cement volume of 73.7 MnT in FY26, up 16% from 63.5 MnT in FY25. Full-year revenue stood at Rs 40,656 Cr with EBITDA of Rs 6,539 Cr (Rs 887 per MT), representing 31% growth on normalized basis. However, Q4 performance showed margin compression at 13.4% versus 18.7% in Q4 FY25, impacted by rising fuel costs, diesel prices, and rupee depreciation due to geopolitical tensions. The company completed mergers of Sanghi and Penna Cement and expanded capacity to 109 MTPA. It remains debt-free with cash reserves of Rs 1,770 Cr and AAA credit ratings. Management expects FY27 industry demand to grow only ~5% given cost headwinds and below-normal monsoon forecasts.
Strong volume growth and EBITDA improvement are positives, but Q4 margin compression and cautious FY27 guidance may pressure near-term stock performance. The company's debt-free status and cash position provide resilience against cost headwinds.
