Ampvolts Ltd (formerly Quest Softech India) reported audited FY25 results showing revenue from operations nearly doubling to ₹198.20 lakhs from ₹102.05 lakhs in FY24, a growth of about 94%. Total income, boosted by ₹99.51 lakhs in other income (mainly interest on bank FDs), stood at ₹297.71 lakhs vs ₹106.20 lakhs. The company swung to a profit after tax of ₹46.28 lakhs in FY25 from a loss of ₹210.17 lakhs in FY24, helped by a deferred tax credit of ₹117.87 lakhs and higher other income. Despite this, loss before tax remained at ₹71.38 lakhs, indicating the core EV charger business is still loss-making. Operating cash flow was sharply negative at ₹(2,166.87) lakhs, largely due to a ₹2,150.49 lakh increase in other current/non-current assets. The statutory auditor (Bansi Khandelwal & Co.) issued an unmodified opinion, and the CFO has confirmed the same.
Positive headline PAT swing masks continued operating losses and weak core profitability — most of the bottom-line improvement comes from interest income on parked rights-issue funds and a one-time deferred tax credit. Negative operating cash flow and persistent pre-tax loss warrant caution, though strong cash reserves (₹2,450.68 lakhs in bank balances) and near-doubling of operating revenue provide some comfort.
