Aruna Hotels Ltd reported total income of Rs 3,911.30 Lakhs for FY 2025-26, up from Rs 3,703.47 Lakhs in the previous year (6% revenue growth). However, net profit declined to Rs 80.90 Lakhs from Rs 103.40 Lakhs in the prior year (22% decline), despite a significant jump in PBT from Rs 16.17 Lakhs to Rs 315.77 Lakhs. The discrepancy is due to a deferred tax expense of Rs 162.62 Lakhs (compared to a deferred tax credit of Rs 87.23 Lakhs in FY 2024-25), which wiped out much of the operational gains. The auditor issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the financial statements. The company has a weak balance sheet with negative other equity of Rs 555.43 Lakhs and significant debt of Rs 11,843.83 Lakhs in non-current borrowings.
Revenue grew modestly but PAT declined sharply due to a deferred tax charge. The company's extremely high leverage (debt/equity ~4.2x) and negative retained earnings remain a concern despite the clean audit opinion.
