Asahi India Glass reported its Q4 and FY25 audited results on May 14, 2025. Standalone total income for FY25 rose to Rs. 4,34,782 lakhs from Rs. 4,17,726 lakhs in FY24, while net profit increased to Rs. 38,910 lakhs from Rs. 33,553 lakhs, up about 16% year-on-year. Consolidated net profit grew to Rs. 36,730 lakhs from Rs. 32,505 lakhs. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 2 per share (face value Re. 1) for FY25, subject to shareholder approval. The company commenced commercial operations at its new float glass plant at Soniyana on March 25, 2025, backed by a significant jump in non-current borrowings. Statutory auditor VSSA & Associates issued an unmodified opinion on both standalone and consolidated results.
The double-digit profit growth, maiden dividend, and new plant commissioning are positive for shareholders, though the sharp increase in long-term borrowings (from Rs. 1.26 lakh to Rs. 1.96 lakh standalone) signals higher interest costs and capital intensity ahead. Stock may react to the strong operational performance tempered by leverage concerns.
