The board approved audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2025, with auditor Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issuing an unmodified opinion. Standalone revenue from operations fell to Rs. 29,552.65 crores from Rs. 31,226.98 crores in FY24, while standalone profit after tax dropped sharply to Rs. 3,584.88 crores from Rs. 5,315.01 crores. The decline was partly driven by a Q4 exceptional item of Rs. 179.81 crores, comprising an impairment loss on the investment in subsidiary Obgenix Software (White Teak) and a fair-value loss on related derivative contracts. The board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 20.55 per share, taking total FY25 dividend to Rs. 24.80 per share (including Rs. 4.25 interim already paid). The 79th AGM is scheduled for June 26, 2025, with the record date set for June 10, 2025.
Sharply lower profits and a meaningful dividend reduction may weigh on near-term investor sentiment, though the company remains essentially debt-free with strong operating cashflows and is investing in a new VAM/VAE subsidiary (Asian Paints Polymers) to diversify beyond paints.
