The Board of Asian Paints approved audited standalone and consolidated financial results for Q4 and FY ended March 31, 2025, with a final dividend of Rs. 20.55 per share recommended (subject to shareholder approval). Total dividend for FY25 aggregates to Rs. 24.80 per share including the Rs. 4.25 interim dividend paid earlier. On a standalone basis, FY25 revenue from operations fell to Rs. 29,552.65 crores from Rs. 31,226.98 crores, while profit after tax dropped to Rs. 3,584.88 crores from Rs. 5,315.01 crores. Consolidated FY25 revenue declined to Rs. 33,905.62 crores (from Rs. 35,494.73 crores) and PAT fell to Rs. 3,709.71 crores (from Rs. 5,557.69 crores). The company recorded Rs. 379.63 crores of exceptional items in FY25 standalone, mainly a Rs. 101.30 crore impairment on its White Teak (Obgenix) investment and a Rs. 78.51 crore fair-value loss on related derivatives. Auditor Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issued an unmodified opinion. The 79th AGM is scheduled for June 26, 2025, with record date June 10, 2025.
Despite a robust dividend payout signalling strong cash generation, shareholders should note a meaningful year-on-year decline in both revenue and profits, alongside a sizeable exceptional charge on the White Teak acquisition. Margin compression and weak top-line growth may put pressure on near-term sentiment, though the dividend and unmodified audit opinion offer some support.
