Q2 FY27 decorative volumes rose 6.4% and value 14.5%; with industrial, value grew 16.4% and volume 6.8%. Consolidated sales rose 17%, but operating margin fell 202 basis points to 15.6% as inflation outpaced price rises. Q2 profit after tax rose 7%, H1 profit after tax rose 24%, and interim dividend was Rs 5.75. Management expects margin recovery in Q3 and Q4, a 41% to 43% gross-margin range, and full use of the 150,000-tonne VAE plant next year.
Sales growth and the new VAE plant support the outlook, but inflation and delayed price recovery may keep margins under pressure in the near term.
