On the reaction day the stock moved 1.1 pts less than Nifty 100 and 0.3 pts more than its Paints peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Consolidated Q2 net sales rose 16.9% to Rs 9,953.9 crore, but earnings before depreciation, interest and tax fell from 17.7% to 15.6% of sales; net profit rose 7.5% to Rs 1,067.6 crore. That margin rose from 17.9% to 18.2% for H1, while company-only H1 net profit rose 25.1%. Raw-material inflation prompted further price increases. The board declared a Rs 5.75 per-share interim dividend.
Sales growth and the dividend help shareholders, but Q2 margin compression from cost inflation may limit near-term gains despite better H1 margins.
