Asian Tea & Exports Limited announced its unaudited Q1 FY26 results on August 6, 2025. Standalone revenue from operations fell sharply to about Rs 826.56 lakhs from Rs 2,265.42 lakhs in the year-ago quarter — a steep decline of roughly 63%. Even as revenue fell, total expenses jumped to Rs 2,146.86 lakhs (from Rs 1,076.90 lakhs), dragging the company into a standalone loss before tax of Rs 853.87 lakhs versus a profit of Rs 167.86 lakhs in Q1 FY25. On a consolidated basis, revenue dropped to about Rs 2,474.58 lakhs (from Rs 5,355.53 lakhs) and the group reported a consolidated loss of approximately Rs 114.82 lakhs for the quarter, compared to a profit in the prior-year period. The statutory auditor (Agarwal Kejriwal & Co.) issued an unqualified review report but flagged an emphasis of matter regarding old debtors of Rs 158.41 lakhs outstanding for more than three years with no provision made, though management expects these to be recovered in the normal course of business.
The sharp revenue collapse combined with a near-doubling of expenses pushed the company into a substantial quarterly loss, which is a clear negative for shareholders and likely to weigh on sentiment. The auditor's emphasis on aged receivables also raises asset-quality concerns, though management remains confident of recovery.
