Astron Paper & Board Mill Limited has had its Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process admitted by the NCLT, Ahmedabad on 11 May 2026. The admission came after an application by Australia-based operational creditor M/s. Empire Sony PTY Limited for an alleged debt of Rs. 1,77,99,024.64 (approximately Rs. 1.78 crore). Mr. Atul Jashwantrai Sheth has been appointed as Interim Resolution Professional (IRP). A moratorium is now in effect, prohibiting any suits, proceedings, or asset transfers against the company. The powers of the Board of Directors stand suspended and will now be exercised by the IRP who will manage the company as a going concern.
This is an extremely negative development for shareholders as the company enters insolvency proceedings. The stock is likely to witness significant downward pressure and potential trading halt. The ultimate outcome could range from a resolution plan that dilutes shareholder equity substantially to complete liquidation.
