One of the company's promoters, Mentor Capital Limited, sold approximately 3.41% of its stake in Authum through secondary market transactions, generating around ₹1,290 crores in proceeds. The buyers included leading Foreign Institutional Investors such as Fidelity Global and Isometry Capital LLC, along with a domestic mutual fund. In a notable move, Mentor Capital has re-infused the entire sale proceeds back into Authum as a debt instrument at an interest rate substantially lower than prevailing market rates. After a 90-day cooling-off period, the promoter intends to convert this infusion into long-term debt or preference shares, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. The company says this will support expansion of its investments and strengthen its credit and ARC platform.
The entry of reputed global institutional investors like Fidelity Global signals strong external validation of the company, while the promoter's re-infusion of proceeds at below-market rates adds low-cost growth capital. For shareholders, this could be viewed positively in the short term, though the promoter holding has technically decreased by 3.41%.
