Axis Bank reported Q2 FY26 net profit of ₹5,090 crore, down 26% year on year, as provisions rose to ₹3,547 crore, including a one-time ₹1,231 crore crop-loan provision. Operating profit fell 3% to ₹10,413 crore, while H1 profit declined 16% to ₹10,896 crore. Deposits rose 11% and advances 12%. Gross bad loans were 1.46% and capital adequacy was 16.55%.
The profit decline may weigh on sentiment, but healthy loan and deposit growth, lower quarterly bad-loan levels and strong capital provide support.
