B&A Packaging India Ltd reported its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended 30 June 2025) unaudited standalone results. Revenue from operations came in at Rs. 3,487.96 lakhs, a modest 1.2% rise over Rs. 3,446.68 lakhs in the same quarter last year. However, profit after tax fell sharply by about 50% to Rs. 171.98 lakhs (from Rs. 345.08 lakhs), with EPS dropping to Rs. 3.47 from Rs. 6.96. The profit compression was driven mainly by a sharp rise in raw material costs (Rs. 2,213 lakhs vs Rs. 2,051 lakhs). The Paper Sacks segment saw its profits tumble to Rs. 108.77 lakhs from Rs. 309.62 lakhs, while the Flexible Laminates segment also saw profit decline. The results carry a clean limited review report from Salarpuria & Partners, who noted that the previous year's figures were reviewed by a predecessor auditor, indicating an auditor change.
Mixed-to-negative sentiment for shareholders — top line was stable but margins were badly squeezed by higher input costs, halving profits year-on-year. The auditor change and weak segment performance in Paper Sacks may attract investor attention.
