Baba Arts Ltd reported total operating income of Rs 368.37 lakhs for Q2 FY26, up sharply from Rs 106.91 lakhs in Q2 FY25, driven mainly by the Digital Media Content segment. Net sales for H1 FY26 surged to Rs 713.16 lakhs from Rs 161.74 lakhs a year earlier. Despite strong revenue growth, operating profit margin fell sharply to about 9% in H1 FY26 from 42% in H1 FY25, as other expenses ballooned to Rs 412.59 lakhs. Net profit for H1 FY26 declined to Rs 49.80 lakhs (from Rs 72.07 lakhs), though Q2 standalone net profit rose modestly to Rs 35.07 lakhs (from Rs 32.50 lakhs). The company has zero debt and EPS for H1 was Rs 0.095.
Strong top-line growth is a positive, but the steep drop in operating margins and the year-on-year decline in half-yearly profit suggest rising costs are eroding profitability, which may temper investor enthusiasm. Negative operating cash flow of Rs 647 lakhs and sizeable related-party transactions with promoter-linked entities warrant closer scrutiny.
