Bajaj Electricals reported a net loss of Rs. 772.6 crore for FY26 versus a profit of Rs. 1,334.2 crore in FY25, a sharp turnaround. Revenue declined 7.6% to Rs. 4,448 crore from Rs. 4,816 crore, driven by weakness in the Consumer Products segment. The loss was inflated by exceptional items totaling negative Rs. 911.5 crore, including Rs. 264.4 crore goodwill impairment for the Aurangabad Nirlep unit, Rs. 293.1 crore impairment of moulds and dies, and Rs. 287.2 crore charge due to new labour codes. Before exceptional items, the company posted a small profit of Rs. 157.7 crore. The auditors gave an unmodified (clean) opinion. The Board also announced a Rs. 3 per share dividend (unchanged from last year), appointed Ms. Ashween Anand as new CFO, and sought shareholder approval to raise up to Rs. 500 crore via securities.
The company swung to a loss due to multiple one-time impairments and labour code charges. While operations remained marginally profitable before exceptional items, the significant revenue decline and large write-downs suggest near-term pressure on the stock. The clean audit opinion and unchanged dividend provide some stability.
