On the reaction day the stock moved in line with Nifty Microcap 250 and in line with its Heavy Electrical Equipment peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Bajel Projects has disclosed that the Office of Joint Commissioner of State Tax, Danapur Circle-1 has imposed a tax, interest and penalty demand of Rs. 236.77 lakh on the company. This stems from a Show Cause Notice dated July 21, 2025 issued under Section 74A(1) r/w 74(5)(i) of the GST Act, 2017, due to a mismatch between GSTR3B and GSTR7 returns. The company states it has already paid the applicable taxes and believes it has a strong case to defend. It is in the process of filing a reply to the notice and says there is currently no financial impact on its operations.
The Rs. 236.77 lakh demand is relatively small for the company, and management believes the penalty is unjustified, so the actual cash outflow may be avoided if the appeal succeeds. Investors should monitor the outcome of the company's reply, as an adverse ruling could result in a modest financial hit, though operations remain unaffected.
