On the reaction day the stock moved 3.4 pts more than Nifty Microcap 250 and 1.9 pts more than its Media & Entertainment peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Balaji Telefilms clarified a news report that said Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has trimmed its stake in the company. The company stated that RIL has not sold any shares; it still holds 2,52,00,000 equity shares, the same number allotted to it in August 2017. RIL's holding percentage has dropped from 24.92% to 21.07% simply because the company's total share count increased after a preferential allotment of 1,78,59,776 shares in February 2025 to promoters and certain non-promoter entities. The dilution is therefore arithmetic, not a real reduction in ownership.
No actual change in Reliance's investment — the perceived stake cut is just a result of new shares being issued, so there is no negative implication from RIL selling out. Shareholders should note that the share base has expanded, which dilutes existing shareholders proportionally.
