Balaji Telefilms Limited submitted its audited financial results for FY25 and Q4 FY25, reporting a sharp swing to a loss. On a standalone basis, the company reported a loss before tax of approximately ₹3,696 lakhs for FY25 compared to a profit of ₹10,505 lakhs in the previous year (restated). Total income stood at around ₹62,070 lakhs (FY25) versus ₹59,760 lakhs (FY24 restated), while revenue from operations dipped slightly to ₹45,309 lakhs from ₹46,701 lakhs. The previous year figures were restated following the NCLT-approved merger of ALT Digital and Maruti Films Pvt Ltd into the company, effective April 1, 2024. As part of the scheme, ₹69,393 lakhs was adjusted against securities premium. Auditor Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated results.
Shareholders should note the significant swing from profit to loss on a standalone basis, largely driven by merger-related adjustments and higher costs. However, the clean audit opinion and completed merger may provide a cleaner forward-looking earnings base. Operating cash flow remained positive, which is a positive sign despite the bottom-line loss.
