Bank of Maharashtra Q1 FY27: net profit up 27 percent YoY at Rs 2,020 crore

Bank of Maharashtra reported Q1 FY27 standalone net profit of Rs 2,020 crore, up about 27 percent YoY from Rs 1,593 crore. Total income rose 15 percent to Rs 9,063 crore. Operating profit grew 21 percent to Rs 3,117 crore. Gross NPA improved to 1.45 percent from 1.74 percent YoY and net NPA held at 0.13 percent. Capital adequacy ratio rose to 18.64 percent. The bank reversed Rs 250 crore of COVID provisions, still holding Rs 760 crore. Auditors gave unmodified opinion with an emphasis of matter on COVID provisions.
Strong profit growth, improving asset quality and higher operating margin signal robust business momentum for the PSU bank.
