BASF India reported Q3 FY26 standalone revenue of ₹38,765 million, up 6.6% year-on-year, while net profit rose modestly to ₹1,051 million from ₹1,036 million. For the nine-month period, revenue was nearly flat at ₹1,15,324 million (down 0.8% YoY), but profit after tax fell about 22% to ₹3,533 million from ₹4,521 million, with profit before tax (continuing operations) declining to ₹4,774 million from ₹6,083 million. Profit margins on continuing operations compressed notably in the nine-month period, partly because the prior year included a ₹293 million exceptional gain from sale of residential properties, while the current nine months had only a ₹138 million exceptional item. The company classified its Surface Technologies (Coatings) business as discontinued operations following a binding global sale agreement between parent BASF SE and Carlyle/QIA, and restated prior period numbers. The demerger of the Agricultural Solutions business into a wholly owned subsidiary is pending other approvals.
Nine-month profits are down about 22% despite stable topline, with margin compression visible across most segments; however, the restructuring (Coatings divestment, Agricultural Solutions demerger) reshapes the business mix and may unlock value once completed, while restated numbers make year-on-year comparison less meaningful.
