BGR Energy Systems received a GST demand order of Rs 1,65,44,188 from the Commissioner, CGST, Nellore, dated 27 December 2025. An equal penalty of Rs 1,65,44,188 plus applicable interest has also been imposed for FY 2018-19 to FY 2020-21. The order alleges wrong availment and utilisation of Input Tax Credit on invoices where vendors had not filed GSTR-3B returns. The company plans to appeal against the order.
Total tax exposure of about Rs 3.31 crore plus interest could weigh on financials. Company plans to appeal, so outcome remains uncertain.
