On the reaction day the stock moved 0.1 pts less than Nifty Smallcap 250 and 0.3 pts less than its Oil Gas & Consumable Fuels peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Bharat Coking Coal informed exchanges that the National Green Tribunal Eastern Zone, Kolkata has disposed of an application (OA 57/2023) alleging violations of the Environment Protection Act, 1986 related to alleged illegal mining at Central Surunga Paharigora and Parbad Laxmi Colliery in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The Tribunal declined to exercise parallel jurisdiction, noting that identical reliefs were already pending before the Jharkhand High Court at Ranchi. The matter therefore remains sub judice at the High Court and has not been concluded on merits.
No immediate financial impact. The environmental allegations remain live at the Jharkhand High Court, so the regulatory overhang persists for shareholders.
