BPCL posted a standalone net loss of Rs 3,962 crore in Q1 FY27 versus a profit of Rs 6,124 crore a year ago, hit by suppressed marketing margins on petroleum products, partly offset by better refining margins. Revenue from operations grew about 23 percent year on year to Rs 1.59 lakh crore. Standalone EPS was negative Rs 9.27. The LPG under-recovery buffer worsened to Rs 15,804 crore from Rs 12,319 crore. Board lacked the required independent directors and audit committee, breaching SEBI listing rules.
Weak margins drove a sharp swing to loss despite higher revenue; LPG under-recovery and board composition lapses remain overhangs.
