BPCL's Q2 FY27 profit before tax was ₹6,686 crore and profit after tax was ₹4,993 crore, down from ₹8,596 crore and ₹6,443 crore a year ago. For April to September, profit after tax fell to ₹1,031 crore from ₹12,566 crore. Refining margin rose to $32.53 per barrel from $10.78, while throughput rose to 10.41 million tonnes from 9.82 million tonnes. Debt excluding lease liabilities reached ₹15,246 crore versus ₹10,480 crore in March.
Lower profit and higher debt may weigh on the share price, although stronger refining margins and throughput provide some support.
