On the reaction day the stock moved 1.3 pts more than Nifty 100 and 1.0 pts more than its Refineries & Marketing peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Standalone first-half revenue rose 26.3% to Rs317,258 crore, but profit after tax fell 91.8% to Rs1,031 crore. Including subsidiaries, first-half profit after tax fell 77.1% to Rs2,990 crore, helped by Rs1,885 crore exceptional income. Q2 profit recovered to Rs4,993 crore from a Rs3,962 crore Q1 loss, but fell 22.5% year on year. Lower marketing margins outweighed higher refining margins, and operating cash flow was negative Rs3,285 crore.
Exceptional income softened the fall, but profit excluding it and operating cash flow weakened, so the stock may face pressure.
