Board approved BPCL's unaudited Q2 and six-month results. Group revenue rose 26.3% to 317,344.98 crore, but profit after tax fell 77.1% to 2,990.35 crore, as lower marketing margins partly offset higher refining margins. Group profit includes 1,884.56 crore of exceptional income. Q2 profit was 4,863.05 crore, down from 6,191.49 crore. Six-month operating cash flow was negative 2,982.69 crore. Review was unmodified but flagged subsidiary matters.
Lower profit, negative operating cash flow and governance gaps may hurt sentiment despite strong revenue growth. Exceptional income supports Q2 profit.
