Bharat Wire Ropes reported FY25 revenue from operations of Rs 62,183 lakhs, essentially flat compared to Rs 62,169 lakhs in FY24. However, profitability took a hit — net profit fell to Rs 7,244 lakhs from Rs 9,634 lakhs, a decline of about 25%. Profit before tax dropped to Rs 9,782 lakhs from Rs 12,889 lakhs as raw material costs rose roughly 9% and employee costs grew over 10%, outpacing revenue. Q4 FY25 net profit stood at Rs 2,065 lakhs versus Rs 2,180 lakhs in Q4 FY24. The balance sheet strengthened with total equity rising to Rs 73,658 lakhs and total borrowings holding steady around Rs 13,103 lakhs. Operating cash flow remained positive at Rs 7,405 lakhs but was lower than Rs 8,522 lakhs last year due to higher working capital needs. The statutory auditor (NGS & Co LLP) issued an unmodified opinion.
Despite steady topline, sharp cost inflation squeezed margins and dragged earnings down by a quarter. Shareholders may see weaker profitability and lower EPS (Rs 10.60 vs Rs 14.17), though the clean audit opinion and manageable debt provide some comfort. Stock sentiment may turn cautious given the earnings miss.
