On the reaction day the stock moved 0.4 pts more than Nifty 100 and 1.1 pts more than its Telecom - Cellular & Fixed line services peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Bharti Airtel received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications, Karnataka LSA imposing a penalty of Rs 2.09 lakh for alleged violation of subscriber verification norms. The issue stems from a sample Customer Application Form Audit conducted by DoT for October 2025 under the company's License Agreement terms. Airtel has decided not to contest the notice and will pay the penalty. The company stated the only financial impact is the penalty amount itself.
Minor Rs 2.09 lakh penalty is negligible for a company of Airtel's size; no material impact on financials or operations expected.
