Bharti Airtel Board approved first and final call of INR 401.25 per share (including INR 397.50 premium) on 39.23 crore partly paid-up equity shares from the September 2021 rights issue. Record date: Feb 6, 2026. Payment window: Mar 2 to Mar 16, 2026. Proceeds of about INR 15,740 crore will mainly prepay or repay borrowings, making India operations effectively net debt-free in the near term, excluding DoT liabilities and finance lease obligations.
Positive for shareholders; company moves toward net debt-free status. Existing partly paid-up holders must pay the call by March 16, 2026.
