On the reaction day the stock moved 0.6 pts less than Nifty 100 and 1.2 pts less than its Telecom - Cellular & Fixed line services peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Bharti Airtel received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications, Andhra Pradesh LSA, imposing a penalty of Rs 7,50,000 for alleged violation of subscriber verification norms. This followed a sample Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit done by DoT for November 2025. The company has chosen not to contest the order and will pay the penalty.
Minimal financial impact. The Rs 7.5 lakh penalty is negligible relative to Airtel's scale and earnings.
