On the reaction day the stock moved 3.4 pts more than Nifty 100 and 4.0 pts more than its Telecom - Cellular & Fixed line services peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Bharti Airtel received two notices from the Department of Telecommunications, Karnataka and Maharashtra circles, for alleged subscriber verification violations found during the June 2026 Customer Application Form Audit. Penalties are Rs 2,13,000 and Rs 1,00,000, totaling Rs 3,13,000. The company has chosen not to contest and will pay both penalties.
Combined penalty of about Rs 3.13 lakh is negligible for Bharti Airtel. No meaningful impact on financials or operations.
