On the reaction day the stock moved 1.2 pts more than Nifty 100 and 0.5 pts more than its Telecom - Cellular & Fixed line services peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Three Department of Telecommunications notices received on September 30, 2025 allege subscriber verification violations. Penalties total Rs 9.23 lakh: Rs 6.88 lakh in Assam, Rs 1 lakh in Uttar Pradesh West and Rs 1.35 lakh in Madhya Pradesh. Airtel will contest the Assam penalty and seek reversal, but will pay the other two.
The penalty is small, and Airtel says financial impact is limited to the amount levied. The notices may prompt scrutiny of subscriber verification.
