BHEL received an adjudication order from the Assistant Commissioner (ST), Commercial Tax Department, Telangana, on January 1, 2026, related to a FY 2021-22 GST matter. The original show cause notice had raised a demand of Rs. 184.55 Crore, but the order came largely in BHEL's favor, dropping Rs. 183.77 Crore of the demand along with interest and penalty. Only a small balance of Rs. 1.43 Crore (Rs. 0.78 Cr demand, Rs. 0.58 Cr interest, Rs. 0.07 Cr penalty) remains, which BHEL plans to appeal before Appellate Authorities.
